'Alarm Over IP' Brings Reliable Internet Transmission Service for Alarm Dealers

IP module provided by AlarmLink® communicates with dedicated alarm server.

Topanga, Calif. (PRWEB) April 11, 2007 -- A new IP module enables alarm dealers to bypass traditional telephone carriers and ensure their customers that alarm transmitters will be able to communicate with a central station reliably using an Internet connection.

AlarmLink®, Inc. (www.alarmlink.com) is now offering i.Ip.Link, an "Alarm over IP" (AoIP) module that connects to the telephone line of almost any alarm control panel. The module is then connected to the customer's dedicated high-speed Internet network within a home or business. The module then communicates with a dedicated AlarmLink server through its own router.

Two-way voice capability and the built-in router highlight the alarm industry-specific features of AoIP communication.

By providing an IP module built specifically to handle the data requirements of alarm transmitters, we are giving dealers an alternative to telephone companies, who normally do not consider the specific needs of alarm owners and alarm companies
"By providing an IP module built specifically to handle the data requirements of alarm transmitters, we are giving dealers an alternative to telephone companies, who normally do not consider the specific needs of alarm owners and alarm companies," said Mike Hansen, president and CEO of AlarmLink. "IP is here to stay, and our experience tells us we have pinpointed a solution that is tailor-made for alarm dealers."

The pre-programmed i.Ip.Link module enables a fast and easy connection with AlarmLink's dedicated alarm monitoring service. No static IP address is required and a customer's security system communicates directly with a dedicated AlarmLink server.

Telephone service companies compress the "sampling rate" of digital data in accordance with peak traffic time to ensure that all customers maintain voice service. A smaller sampling rate compromises the quality of the data being transmitted, which does not compromise voice service as much as it can the transmission of data critical to alarm services.

"Central stations can ensure that their telephone service provider will provide them with high quality circuits that will support digital dialers," Hansen said. "Unfortunately, dealers will never be able to control the last mile to a customer's location. We provide our own high-bandwidth connection and the supervision needed for reliable alarm systems."

The per-unit cost of the i.Ip.Link is $169.95, which includes the built-in router and two-way voice capability. Call AlarmLink at 310-455-4455 to place an order today.
