"Critical Incidents in Performance Testing" Theme for 8th Workshop on Performance and Reliability

Mentora Group, Inc., (http://www.mentora.com) a leading application hosting and testing firm, announced today that Dan Downing will participate in the eighth Workshop On Performance and Reliability, a semi-annual event that brings together an invited group of expert software quality practitioners from around the world to expand the body of knowledge on performance testing.

Presenting "experience reports" on events that have fundamentally changed the way practitioners conduct performance testing, participants will promote discussion on all aspects of performance testing, including process, technologies, teams, tools, status reporting and stakeholder engagement in a format that mirrors the successful Los Altos Workshop on Software Testing (LAWST) model. Dan Downing, Vice President of Testing for Mentora, said, "It will be exciting to spend three days with recognized performance testing experts. While I will share my own critical incidents from projects I've conducted over the last 10 years, my main goal is to learn from the thought leaders that gather at this event."

WOPR8 is sponsored by MITRE, a U.S. government-funded systems and technology research company in Bedford, Massachusetts. The workshop will be held in Building M, April 12 - 14. For the first time, an evening session (April 12, 6 - 9pm, Building C) will feature a public meeting, reaching out to members of software quality organizations that meet at MITRE and to the general public. The theme of the evening session is "Paradigm Shifts in Performance Testing: Evolution or Revolution?"
