AIG Technology announces the newest version of its time and attendance biometric solution, EMMA (Employee Monitoring Management Attendance). EMMA can track multiple job types and the hours associated with each of them. Management can easily review employees' hours and electronically approve their time, thus eliminating employee time and attendance disputes. EMMA complies with the Fair Labor and Standards Act.

"Before installing EMMA, our employees logged their time via Web entry, so basically we had to rely on the honor system," said Kurt Spence, Senior Programmer Analyst at Gannon University in Erie, PA. Spence continued, "Our supervisors are thrilled with EMMA. They know that by using biometric technology, there is less of a chance for fraud and that time is tracked appropriately and accurately. Another benefit is that all of the data goes directly into our Web entry system and then is automatically transferred into the payroll system. This eliminates all manual entry."

A few of the enhanced features include:

  •     Time Review Session -- Employees can log in to the system to see how many hours they have worked. They can distinguish how many hours have been allocated to actual work vs. vacation and sick-leave.
  •     Customized Interface -- Supervisors have the ability to give employees the ability to designate whether time off is a vacation or sick day.
  •     Flawless Data and Reports -- EMMA can show where hours are expended, by task or by classification. EMMA also reports changes in budgeted versus actual hours within projects. With EMMA, supervisors can produce ad hoc reports of unique events and time sessions. EMMA tracks and identifies trends within the staff attendance. Supervisors can uncover issues using comparative reports to provide insight into vacation requests and sick or personal leave.
  •     Integration to Accounting Systems -- Data collected by EMMA can be passed to five accounting systems: Datatel, CSI, Ceridian, Komputrol and Keystone.
