As an affiliate of Manhattan-based Redeemer Presbyterian Church, Grace Presbyterian is the newest member in a growing network of new churches located throughout New York that have been started by the Redeemer Church Planting Center (RCPC).

Grace Presbyterian's congregation is comprised of local residents who began meeting three years ago with hopes of eventually attracting a permanent pastor. Pastor Middlekauff moved his family from St. Louis, Missouri, to Water Mill in 2006 and assumed the leadership role within the group.

As a church planter, Pastor Middlekauff serves as a religious leader and, with help from the RCPC, directs his congregation's growth. He holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Covenant Theological Seminary and a Bachelors of Science degree from Indiana University's Kelly School of Business. Prior to completing his theological training, he operated a successful business and worked as a Director of Youth Ministries.

Pastor Middlekauff commented, "I became a Christian in my late twenties while running a computer business that I had started. I am finding that a lot of the same entrepreneurial skills I developed starting a business are useful in planting a new church."

By fostering relationships within the community, engaging people intellectually and spiritually, and capitalizing on the rising popularity of spirituality, Grace Presbyterian Church hopes to ingratiate itself with and enhance the Hamptons' cultural landscape.

Regular Sunday services will be available following the inauguration. FirstFridays, a free childcare program that allows parents to connect with friends on the first Friday of each month, will be available in coming months.

Mark and Lesley Middlekauff have three girls: Grace - 5 years old, Lily - 2 years old, and Ella - 10 months old. They enjoy the outdoors: hiking, biking, and soon, surfing. Mark also enjoys the fishing on Long Island, and Lesley has taken to paddling in her new kayak.
