Learn.com®, the leader in on-demand workforce development and productivity, announced today that Robbins-Gioia -- a LearnCenter platform client and the leading provider of program management services, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., -- has won an exemplary practice award at the 8th Annual Corporate University Xchange Awards for Excellence and Innovation in Corporate Learning. These awards recognize corporate and government learning organizations that create programs resulting in measurable improvements in employee and business performance.

Robbins-Gioia received the award for successfully launching its new corporate university initiative, Robbins-Gioia University (RGU). One judge applauded the RGU practice of using trainers from the field who rotate back to their business units, calling it "an outstanding method of aligning the university to the business." Another noted that RGU reflects well-defined performance goals with strong management support. The assessments were right on target, according to RGU Learning Management Systems Manager Cari Bohley. "Our goal was to align RGU with the other strategic planning elements of our corporation."

"The LearnCenter platform from Learn.com has revolutionized the way Robbins-Gioia delivers training and our success is demonstrated by a 50 percent increase in employee enrollments," Bohley added. "Using the LearnCenter platform, Robbins-Gioia University offers online self-registration for all training and provides access to Web-based learning as well as instructor-led training. To further streamline the process, we added Learn.com's custom Mentor communication solutions to enable our employees to learn to navigate the system on-demand without making a help desk call. The Mentor Team at Learn.com created a suite of just-in-time tutorials for our new and returning students to access when in need."

"The Robbins-Gioia professional development, human resources, and operations groups worked together as a team to bring RGU into being," said John Marselle, Robbins-Gioia CEO. "The result is a fantastic resource for the professional development of our employees -- and another example of the value that our people place on hard work, generosity and cooperation to accomplish our aims."

Awards for excellence were presented in each of eight categories -- alignment, alliances, corporate/college partnerships, launching, leadership development, learning technology, marketing and measurement -- in a ceremony that took place on February 27, 2007, in Orlando, Florida.
