The instruments are to be auctioned off on CharityFolks.com during and after the festival. To cap off the day of support for sustainable rebuilding, Republic will extend an invitation to all artists to participate in a special media event in the most beautiful club in the warehouse district of New Orleans that opened its doors after Katrina to help revive the city. Republic will donate revenues from their door Thursday night, from 10 PM - 2 AM to Global Green.

An Afternoon Soiree, Signing and Birthday Celebration with original Ink Spots Member Huey Long for his 103rd Birthday Celebration!

The Ink Spots, Grammy Hall of Fame and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, have been called living legends of American music; one of the most influential vocal groups of all time and the most imitated entertainers in show business. The Ink Spots story spans six decades, more than 80 chart hits and performances throughout the world. ('If I Didn't Care' - their first hit, ultimately sold 19 million copies.)

Huey's career began in 1925 playing banjo for Frank Davis' Louisiana Jazz Band in the Houston area. He had to change to guitar by 1933 with Texas Guinan's Cuban Orchestra in Chicago. By 1933 he was with Jesse Stone, the composer of "Shake, Rattle & Roll." And the history rolls on influencing such major stars as Al Jarreau and George Benson - to name only a few.

This fundraising event will support Global Green USA's sustainable rebuilding initiatives in New Orleans and serve as a kickoff to ActiveMusic's and Global Green USA's newly-formed partnership. For more information visit http://www.globalgreen.org or http://www.activemusic.org
