Rock Out and celebrate Cinco de Mayo at Hogue Barmichael's to benefit Lupus International. A huge lineup of bands will play throughout the night for all ages. You won't want to miss these headliners jamm' in support of lupus.

Join us for an exciting evening that will benefit Lupus International, a non-profit organization dedicated to educating and supporting others that suffer from lupus. Come to the early set, which will feature Lethal Dose, Now We are Six, Fiore and Jupiter. Second set will open with The Volatile Real, a combination of jam band, rock, dance, funk and progressive; Inverse will rock the house with their classical rock and blues, while Vokee from LA has a strong momentum rolling with their electrical alternative rock style; Drop Dead Beats from Long Beach, a 4 peace Psycho/Rockabilly band with a mixture of Gothic, Country, and Garbage; ending the night, combining the insanity that is their live performance with a self-coined "synth-hop" sound, Iglu & Hartly who have taken the LA music scene by storm with music that is infectious, fun and just plain good. Proceeds benefit Lupus International, a nonprofit organization dedicated to fighting this devastating disease.

There's a little bit of something for everyone. The event will be held on May 5, 2007, at Hogue Barmichaels, 3950 Campus Drive, Newport Beach, Ca. All ages are welcome from 6:00 p.m. through 9:30 p.m. Beginning at 9:30 p.m. until 2 a.m., 21 and older are welcome. All this entertainment for a very low price, $15.

Lupus International focuses on support and education for those who have lupus and their families. Communication is the key to understanding the critical needs of lupus sufferers. People need to be aware that while people with this illness look fine, the ravage of their bodies, the difficulty in daily living, the coping with severe pain are very tough to live with. Lupus (systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE) is a chronic disease that can cause inflammation, pain and tissue damage throughout the body. It is an auto-immune disorder whereby the body's immune system attacks the recipient and manifests itself in a myriad of ways. Lupus affects more than 2.5 million people. The cause for this tragic disease is yet unknown, and there is currently no cure. When a person develops serious Lupus, they may have problems with their kidneys, heart, lungs or blood cells. Lupus can be difficult to diagnose and can mimic other diseases.
