InterAct Receives SLED Approval for NCIC in South Carolina

InterAct Public Safety Systems has recently received certification from the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to provide InterAct JavelinNCIC to the state of South Carolina.

InterAct Public Safety Systems, a leading provider of safety and security software used by private sector businesses as well as local, state, national, and international government agencies, is now certified to provide South Carolina with the FBI's National Criminal Information Center (NCIC) database. InterAct JavelinNCIC was approved by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). InterAct can also be seen at the South Carolina APCO conference in Greenville, SC April 18-20.

JavelinNCIC allows for a computerized index of criminal justice information, including: criminal record history information, fugitive, stolen properties, and missing persons. The JavelinNCIC software comes in two forms, query only and two way access. Although a stand-alone product, JavelinNCIC can also be integrated into InterAct computer aided dispatch (CAD) eliminating the need for multiple entries of data.

South Carolina has been certified to receive the JavelinNCIC software in query only form, with two-way access becoming available in the near future. InterAct starts the process for state certification when a customer in that state has requested it. Once InterAct has been certified, JavelinNCIC can be offered to any agency in that state, even if that agency is not a customer or doesn't have any previous InterAct software. South Carolina is one of many states that now have the JavelinNCIC product available to them.
