$10,000 to be Awarded to Video Depicting "Library Love" During National Library Week Contest

$10,000 to be awarded to video depicting "Library Love" during National Library Week Contest.

Farmington Hills, MI (PRWEB) April 18, 2007 -- In honor of National Library Week 2007 (April 15-21), Thomson Gale is launching librareo (www.gale.com/librareo), an online community for libraries and the people who love them. To make certain librareo gets off to a great start, from April 15 until the end of June, librareo will host a very unique contest - the "I Love my Library" video contest.

About the "I Love my Library" Video Contest
Make a video no shorter than 30 seconds but no longer than two-minutes professing a deep, abiding love of libraries, librarians and those who depend on them. Load the video to the librareo group on YouTube before midnight EST on Friday, May 25, 2007.

By June 1, 2007 Thomson Gale judges will determine the top five finalists based on creativity, unique portrayal of love for libraries and the resources they provide, and overall likeability. The top five videos will be featured on www.gale.com/librareo for a nationwide vote that will be held from June 1-11, 2007. The video with the most votes wins the Grand Prize!

View complete contest rules and video samples at www.gale.com/librareo.

The Grand Prize is $10,000 - $5,000 will be awarded to a library the winner designates as the recipient; the other $5,000 will be awarded to the winner. The winning video also will be shown at a special screening held during the American Library Association's Annual Conference in Washington, D.C. in June, 2007.

You can submit as many videos as you like, provided each entry is entirely original.
