Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 24, 2007 -- Card Player Media and the Urban Health Institute team up in support of a worthy cause. On Saturday, April 28, 2007 the Urban Health Institute will host its Second Annual Celebrity Poker Tournament and Casino Night benefiting the Urban Health Institute. Card Player Media is the official poker media outlet of the fundraiser and a co-sponsor. The event will be held at the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles, CA.

Defending his title, Academy Award nominated actor, Don Cheadle will be playing against fellow celebrities Eddie Griffin, Anthony Anderson, Shannon Elizabeth, and Jennifer Tilly. Several professional poker players will also be attending in support of this great cause.

Guests will enjoy a VIP cocktail reception, and will have the chance to bid on prizes throughout the night. The Grand Prize tournament winner will be awarded two seats in the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event plus airfare and hotel accommodations. Non-poker playing guests will have the chance to win prizes while playing craps, blackjack and roulette.

"This is a worthy cause and we are proud to associate the Card Player name with the Urban Health Institute," stated Tim Resnik, Chief Marketing Officer, Card Player Media. "Our hope is for a successful tournament and fundraiser."

About the Urban Health Institute
The Urban Health Institute (UHI) is a nonprofit organization, founded by Los Angeles-based physician, Kevin Brown, M.D., to provide direct care, medicine, and medical equipment in response to natural and man-made disasters. The organization enlists pro-bono participation from local health care professionals to provide public health education and information about the availability of health-related and specialty-care resources in disadvantaged communities around the globe. Proceeds from this event will go directly to fund the Urban Health Institute's monthly health education seminars, quarterly health fairs and purchase medical supplies for under served communities locally and abroad. Last year's event helped support UHI's medical mission to two remote Nigerian villages, as well as ongoing local health clinics and fairs.
