STARRY NIGHT LIGHTS.COM to Save Baby Sea Turtles April 21

Night sky friendly lighting supplier STARRY NIGHT LIGHTS.COM, based in Park City UT, is pleased to announce its sponsorship and participation at the Sea Turtle and Lighting Workshop at The Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, FL. on Saturday April 21, 2007.

Park City, UT (PRWEB) April 20, 2007 -- Night sky friendly lighting supplier STARRY NIGHT LIGHTS.COM, based in Park City UT, is pleased to announce its sponsorship and participation at the Sea Turtle and Lighting Workshop at The Mote Marine Laboratory in Sarasota, FL, April 21, 2007.

The event, which will include presentations from marine life and lighting experts from across the country, will focus on ways to curb light pollution that interferes with the natural mating and hatching cycles of wildlife including sea turtles.

"As many as 50% of sea turtle hatchlings can die because of light pollution caused disorientation. This is simply unacceptable," says StarryNightLights.com founder Anthony Arrigo. "Starry Night Lights has worked continuously to expand our turtle-friendly outdoor lighting options. We want to make sure that people have every opportunity to do the right thing so that these beautiful creatures can recover and be around for future generations."

Improper outdoor lighting is one of the greatest issues affecting sea turtles according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Light pollution is at the heart of the decline of sea turtles. It impacts their nesting habits, and the ability of young hatchlings to survive. By using only turtle-friendly outdoor lighting products, which keep light away from turtle nesting area, you can help these beautiful creatures to recover. Light pollution from local communities is threatening large segments of the sea turtle population. In fact, all sea turtles in Florida are either classified as threatened or endangered. By insisting on turtle friendly outdoor lighting for your home or business, you can help these and many other species cope with human encroachment of their habitats.

Starry Night Lights will be attending this event to answer questions home and business owners might have about exterior lighting options. Often, people are simply unaware of the wide range of options available to them. StarryNightLights.com will have a selection of turtle friendly-outdoor lights on display to give people an idea of what types of fixtures are available.
