On April 11, 2007, the Women's Sports Foundation, founded by Billie Jean King, hosted The Billies at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The awards gala recognizes media excellence in women's sports and physical activity while simultaneously raising funds for the Women's Sports Foundation. The evening welcomed many athletes, celebrities, and musicians, all in support of the Women's Sports Foundation.
