MF Digital Launches a Medical Disc System Fully Compliant for DICOM Medical Information Systems and PACS Networks

MF Digital, an industry leader in Optical Disc Solutions, launches the MDS 2000, a Medical Disc System fully compliant for DICOM medical information systems and PACS networks.

(PRWEB) April 23, 2007 -- The medical community is quickly adopting film-less distribution of critical medical data to aid in rapid diagnosis and treatment of patients. The new Medical Disc System from MF Digital expedites time sensitive sharing of medical records for physicians, hospitals and imaging centers. The MDS 2000 solution offers easy access, creation and distribution of DICOM images and series. The MDS 2000 offers seamless integration allowing output from multiple modalities and PACS systems.

"MF Digital has partnered with Neologic, a leading DICOM software implementer to create a turn-key Medical Disc System that provides unparalleled production speed and performance," says Mark Hulswit, MF Digital Sales Manager. "The Medical Disc System is designed to accelerate the disc imaging process from any PACS system with a full color, waterproof, durable print intended for permanent archive. The discs are platform independent, enabling patients and physician to view the information without a DICOM or PACS system."

The Medical Disc System's robust software offers a professional DICOM interface which streamlines workflow and maximizes performance. MDS 2000 may interface with any DICOM imaging modality or PACS system. Disaster recovery and restore features allow facilities to immediately recover data in an unexpected emergency. In addition, MF Digital's EasyAPI makes it simple to create a customized solution tailored to the user's needs.

"We have seen the phrase, 'Lowest Cost of Ownership' with respect to automated Medical Disc Systems, but MF Digital can truly make that claim. The Medical Disc System does not lack in features or equipment performance. Engineered to perfection, the MDS 2000 is designed for 24/7 mission critical applications," explains Hulswit. "In addition, the direct-to-disc Picojet printing is based on HP inkjet technology, an industry standard in the medical field. MF Digital is setting industry trends by offering an optional hot swap replacement program whereby a hardware problem has resolution within 48 hours of diagnosis; this service reduces downtime and decreases interruption to critical applications."

MF Digital's DICOM compliant Medical Disc Systems are available through a world-wide network of authorized resellers.
