Tidewater Company Plans To Help Handicapped Find Rewarding Careers

The Information Technology management and consulting company, ProActivIT, has plans to help disabled veterans and accident victims find rewarding new careers in the Managed Services industry.

Yorktown, VA (PRWEB) April 23, 2007 -- The Information Technology management and consulting company, ProActivIT, has plans to help disabled veterans and accident victims find rewarding new careers in the Managed Services industry. "Veterans are among the most computer literate…" stated Mr. Michael Lindsay, the Company's president. "Those who have been injured in service to our country return to receive rehabilitation, but those services rarely include specific training and therapies that help them adapt their strengths to prepare for a rewarding career that accommodates their disability," added Lindsay. "ProActivIT would like to help the physically challenged find a rewarding career that boosts their personal satisfaction and raises their quality of life."

To do so, the company is now working with occupational therapists (individuals who work with the injured or disabled) and remote management software trainers (who teach employees to use the management software and equipment) to develop accommodation devices and processes that enable a physically challenged individual to provide the company's remote monitoring, repair and business services.

Using specially designed software, technicians can remotely analyze network and computer conditions and improve performance by removing spyware and malware, checking computer system components, keeping anti-virus software up-to-date, removing "junk" temporary files, scheduling routine hard disk clean-ups and installing software service and security patches. The company also specializes in business continuity and disaster recovery systems. Remote Network Management technicians also assist the company's clients with remote data storage and back-up services to ensure that the client's critical historical, operational, financial and marketing information is properly stored and available immediately in the event that a natural or man-made catastrophe corrupts the business' primary data sources.

ProActivIT was formed in 2003 and has eight full time employees. The company currently manages over 200 computers and servers for a number of clients in the Tidewater area. The company's leadership believes that the industry is undergoing a paradigm shift in how computers should be maintained. ProActivIT's clients reduce overall operating costs and increase staff productivity by maintaining there IT infrastructure on a preventive basis like one maintains a car. "Until now, business managers have had no choice but to operate their computers until they break," indicated Robert Dynan, the Company's Chief Operating Officer. "Now you can maintain your computers just like you maintain your car. Routine oil changes and periodic cleanings reduce overall maintenance costs on your vehicle and managed services will do the same for your computers. Since we're revolutionizing Information Technology support, what better time to revolutionize the approach to career opportunity development for Americans with disabilities," added Dynan.
