Around the World in 60 Pubs - World's First Round-the-World Pub Crawl

The world's first round-the-world pub crawl was announced today, to be conducted in March 2008 departing from London.

Perth, Western Australia (PRWEB) April 24, 2007 -- The world's first round-the-world pub crawl was announced today, to be conducted in March 2008 departing from London.

The 25-day tour, titled "Around the world in 60 pubs" is offered by Australian touring company Thirsty Swagman who specialise in intercontinental pub crawls and world record pub crawl events.

"This is definitely a world first, that will offer travellers a totally unique experience. No other tour even comes close to what we're giving people...we've got a massive adventure lined up, with some of the best nightlife destinations the world can offer," said Kenneth Hart, Chief Swagman and founder of Thirsty Swagman Pty Ltd.

"We'll be visiting over 60 pubs during this trip, including some of the most exciting drinking establishment on the planet," he said.

The tour, which includes 11 destinations across 4 continents, offers travellers the ultimate party, taking in the very best of the local pubs in each destination. Ranging from Rio de Janeiro for some of the world's best nightlife, to tiny alpine village Maria Alm in Austria, each destination promises to be completely different.

Thirsty Swagman was formed to provide an alternative to the usual sight-seeing and experience tours. All trips by the company offer a purely pub and bar based itinerary, usually taking in the local nightlife. Any day-time trips are to visit breweries, distilleries or special events.

Its first smaller tour on offer is a trip to Maryborough, Queensland, to help break the Guinness World record for the world's biggest pub crawl, currently standing at over 3,000 people. The 4-day tour runs from June 9th, and includes a visit to the Bundaberg Rum distillery. There are still places available. Round-the-world tours departing Australia are planned for late 2008.

"We're going to party hard around the globe for nearly a month so the weak need not apply. There are no early wake-ups, and definitely no visiting Eifel towers," says Andrew Dalton, Marketing Manager at Thirsty Swagman.

Tour prices vary, and are all-inclusive of airfares, land-based travel, entry to pubs and bars, 3-star accommodation incl. breakfast, and video production of every pub crawl.
