Phurnace Software, Inc., provider of Java EE™ management tools (http://www.phurnace.com/products.html), today announced its new chief executive officer, Larry Warnock. Warnock has over 23 years of experience in start-up and established technology companies. He most recently served as chief marketing officer of Vignette Corporation, the Austin-based provider of web content management software. Warnock has also held executive positions at OnLink Technologies (acquired by Siebel Systems) and Documentum, Inc. (acquired by EMC, Corporation).

In addition, the company announced that it will be seeking additional funding for expansion. The company is currently a resident in the Austin Technology Incubator (ATI), a division of the IC2 Institute of the University of Texas at Austin. A seed investment was provided by Lonestar Capital to validate the market and release the first product. The company has received provisional patents for its technology and it plans to expand marketing and sales as well as extend the product portfolio.

"The board is extremely pleased to welcome Larry as our new CEO," said Phil Rawlins, member of Phurnace's board of directors. "Phurnace is ready to move to the next stage of company development and Larry's experience, energy, and passion made him the right choice."

"The company has made substantial forward progress on all fronts," said Larry Warnock. "It is a pleasure to be joining such a great team, and I am confident that we will grow quickly."

The company was founded by two software veterans who had wrestled with specific problems related to web application servers during their careers. One of the founders, as an executive MBA student, used the idea for a business plan he entered into the prestigious Moot Corp. competition at the University of Texas. It won First Place in 2006.

"The market is begging for the features that Phurnace delivers," says Warnock. "The way organizations manage web application server deployments today is a mess. It is time consuming and full of errors. Phurnace is the clear answer. It's that simple."

Warnock holds a B.B.A in Marketing from Texas A&M University and is a guest lecturer at McCombs School of Business, University of Texas at Austin, and the Acton Entrepreneurial MBA program of Hardin-Simmons University.
