Fort Collins, CO (PRWEB) April 25, 2007
Joan King, certified professional/personal coach, founder of Beyond Success and author of Cellular Wisdom, has earned her Master Certified Coach (MCC) credential from the 11,000-member International Coach Federation (ICF). The MCC credential is held by fewer than 600 coaches worldwide.
The Master Certified Coach credential is the highest level of certification available for coaches, requiring a minimum of 200 hours of coach-specific training and 2,500 hours of coaching experience. This certification establishes King as one of the leaders in the coaching field.
The coaching industry first blossomed in the mid-1980s. As the industry has grown and expanded, both coaches and clients have sought parameters to measure credibility as more coaches have emerged.
While coaching is not licensed like therapy is, it does have credentialing. Many coaches establish their businesses without extensive training or a foundation for their success and the success of their clients. With minimal tools, they are not in a position to catapult their clients to greater success.
On the way to earning her Master Coach Certification, King earned her Professonal Certified Coach (PCC) credential. The PCC requires a minimum of 125 hours of additional coach-specific training, and 750 additional hours of coaching experience. King was able to start working on her PCC immediately, skipping the ACC, based on 125 hours of ICF-accredited training and certification she had already completed, and prior coaching experience. Earning the ACC requires a minimum of 60 hours of coach-specific training, and 100 hours of coaching experience.
King went beyond even these requirements, taking an additional 75 hours of training after earning her Professional Certified Coach credential to develop additional coaching skills, expanding her expertise in executive coaching, group coaching and teleconference facilitation.

About Joan King and Beyond Success
Joan King is a neuroscientist, author, speaker and highly credentialed coach. At age 10, after the death of her father, she began a life-long quest to draw meaning and understanding from the deepest layers of life. After 11 years studying philosophy and theology in a Dominican convent, she came to the realization that, for her, "religious answers were not enough." She went on to earn a multidisciplinary Ph.D. in Neurosciences and Psychology from Tulane University and worked for 25 years as a professor and neuroscience researcher at Tufts University Schools of Medicine in Boston, where she also served as chair of the Dept. of Anatomy and Cellular Biology.
In 1998, she founded Beyond Success, LLC, a certified professional/personal coaching business, to assist others in the same process of self-examination, self-reflection and self-actualization that she experienced in her own life and career. Her book, Cellular Wisdom, published in 2004, links personal exploration with the science of the body, and guides readers on a comprehensive journey toward discovering their authentic, essential beings. King resides in Loveland, Colorado, maintains an office in Fort Collins, and serves clients nationwide. For more information visit http://www.beyond-success.com, or call (970) 226-5626.
