Mission-Critical Servers, Software, and Service Technology Deliver Substantial Cost Savings to Migration Customers

HP is a key go to market partner for Clerity in the pursuit of mainframe migration

Clerity Solutions, Inc. (Clerity) announced today that Hewlett-Packard (HP) has expanded its Mainframe Alternative program solution set by partnering with Clerity and its UniKix™ mainframe rehosting product line.

"HP's Mainframe Alternative program keeps on picking up speed and momentum," said Herman Eggink, HP EMEA Mainframe Alternative program manager. "The availability of Clerity's migration solutions on Intel® Itanium® based HP Integrity systems gives our customers a safe, low-risk solution on the world's best mainframe alternative platform. We have compared many mainframe environments with HP Superdome systems and repeatedly proven that HP Superdomes are not only technologically on par with the mainframe, but they are also less expensive to deploy, maintain and support. With UniKix solutions from Clerity on Integrity systems, customers can rehost mainframe workloads on an open platform and save 50% or more off the total cost of ownership (TCO) of their current mainframe environments, freeing up IT budgets to be used for continued business innovation and competitive advantage."

With increased adoption in large enterprises of Itanium based systems and a growing demand from customers to be on open platforms, HP, its Mainframe Alternative program and Clerity's migration services and software offer a comprehensive offering that can bring substantial financial and technical benefits to customers.

"We are really satisfied with the availability, performance and stability levels of our environment rehosted some years ago," said Marie-Brigitte Aubry, IT Service Delivery Manager of VW Brussels. "VWB has successfully been running mission critical workloads on HP-UX and UniKix technology for years."

Migration to HP and Clerity open systems environments is further accelerated by leveraging a joint Mainframe Rehosting Reference Architecture to reduce transition complexity and minimize implementation risks. This designed and pre-tested architecture provides a complete framework to address the availability, performance, and manageability requirements mainframe-orientated implementations have come to expect. In addition to key UniKix rehosting software products from Clerity, the reference architecture includes key HP software components such as HP OpenView technology which provides enterprise-level management functionality for open systems platforms.

"HP is a key go to market partner for Clerity in the pursuit of mainframe migration," said Philippe Fraysse, Director of European Business Development at Clerity. "Given our growing momentum and strength in the mainframe migration space, it is clear that there is a natural fit between the two companies. Working together with HP enables us to deliver our solutions on one of the best performing platforms available to provide a true mainframe alternative."
