For FabFemme (http://fabfemme.com/), a new social networking site for gay and bisexual women that launches today, the true sign of success is when members actually log off and shut down their computers.

That’s because FabFemme is the first social networking site dedicated to helping women easily turn online connections into real-world fun, friends, adventure, and relationships.

A vibrant online network showcasing sophisticated search, planning, and invitation tools, FabFemme is dedicated to inspiring women everywhere to reach out, form rewarding bonds, and get the most out of their social and professional lives.

The debut marks the national expansion of FabFemme, a successful, six-year-old lifestyle and networking organization that has enriched the lives of thousands of gay and bisexual women in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles.

Founded by Susan Lubeck, a veteran technology marketing executive, FabFemme has attracted a passionate, grassroots following of career-savvy women thanks to its diverse range of inspired events and activities -- from intimate dinners to group theater outings and day trips to large-scale dance parties.

Drawing on her 15 years’ experience as a marketing executive for global technology brands like Intel, Kodak, and Phillips, as well as her background with FabFemme, Lubeck oversaw the development of the site’s proprietary networking and invitation tools so that women in any city or community could create the type of genuine, life-enhancing experiences that have become a hallmark of FabFemme on the West Coast.

“We wanted to create a network that made it easy and fun to turn online connections into real-word experiences and relationships,” said Lubeck. “Our hope is that women will use it to energize and expand their social and professional lives on a daily, ongoing, and meaningful basis.”

After joining FabFemme, members can use its innovative features and services to:

  •     Create a profile that captures personality and goals
  •     Set up a “Little Pink Book” that organizes and keeps track of personal contacts
  •     Start groups around shared interests -- from fitness to cooking to theater and more
  •     Search for other FabFemme members by location, profession, interests, and more
  •     Customize invitations for group activities or one-on-one dates
  •     Hotlist favorite members and view mutual Hotlist match-ups
  •     Track new connections, messages, and invites on a personal “My Network” page
  •     Communicate directly with other members via private email messages
  •     Be notified of special FabFemme events in your community

Lubeck began building the FabFemme brand in 2001 when, as a recent transplant to San Francisco, she organized a small mixer at a wine bar as a way to meet other women in her new community. What started as a personal quest to create a thriving social life quickly evolved into a labor of love as word of mouth spread and more and more women shared stories of how FabFemme had impacted their lives.

“I went to my first FabFemme event two years ago, a dinner with a small group of some of the hippest, healthiest, spiritually together women I’ve ever encountered in Los Angeles -- and I’ve lived there my whole life,” said Kathy McWorter, a Los Angeles-based screenwriter. “Three of us from that first dinner have remained terrific friends, traveling together and celebrating birthdays. The whole FabFemme experience really feels kind of miraculous.”

To celebrate the launch of FabFemme, all members who sign up now will receive a free 30-day premier membership.

After the first 30 days, premier memberships, which provide access to all features including messages and invitations, will be available for $18 for one month, $40 for three months ($13.33 per month), $60 for six months ($10.00 per month), and $100 for one year ($8.33 per month).
