New Company Seeks a Different Breed of Virtual Workers
According to a recent USA Today article, "an estimated 30 million Americans, or roughly one-fifth of the nation's workforce, are part of the so-called Kinko's generation, employees who spend significant hours each month working outside of a traditional office. This rootless army is growing 10% annually, according to Gartner Dataquest research."
Eldersburg, MD (PRWEB) April 26, 2007 -- Did you have coffee at Starbucks this morning?
Then there's a good chance you may have been sitting next to one of the happy Virtual Assistants (VAs) from InvisibleWokers.Com
"Traditionally you think of VAs doing massive typing, writing reports, and not straying too far from their home filing cabinets," says Michael T. Smith, founder of InvisibleWorkers.com, "but our VAs get to enjoy being outside with tasks like; photography, home tours and outside client promotions."
Michael T. Smith is also the CEO of Creative Advertising Services and has had online businesses since 1988. These days he is primarily a real estate investor. His love of the internet keeps him tinkering and developing news ways for individuals to make a living from home.
A good percentage of the "invisible workers" that Mr. Smith employs are college students who love the pay and the ability to work around their class schedules. The founder is quick to also mention; "We have invisible workers everywhere because of the amazing power if the internet our VAs can do this work from anywhere on the planet!"
Peter Rodgers, 18, one of the photographers at Towson State University, says, "Many of my friends are stuck in fast food restaurants, or boring service jobs but I can work whenever I want. When the weather is nice I can drive around town seeing the sights and taking photographs ... I love it!"
But don't get the idea that VAs from invisibleworkers.com don't work at home. Many of them spend time each day doing traditional office worker tasks. Yet others work doing simple ad postings that can earn them $700.00 per assignment.
"You don't have to be a geek or internet wizard to become an invisible worker, we have moms, retirees and even full time workers who are doing a little moonlighting," Michael says. "But it is important that you are self-directed and have the ability to focus on your assignments shutting out household distractions. Having the ability to avoid the television or the video game box is a big plus!"
