Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 26, 2007 --Aspenwood Internal Medicine is celebrating its first full year in business.

Since opening Aspenwood Internal Medicine on March 1, 2006, founding physicians Dr. Anisa Moore and Dr. Crista Spears have seen more than 2,100 new patients and had more than 8,000 visits in their primary care practice at Rose Medical Center.

"In just one year, we have watched Aspenwood grow exponentially, in large part due to our friendly and efficient staff, the confidence and referrals of our fellow physicians, and the support of Rose Medical Center and HealthONE," Dr. Moore said. "We are truly honored that so many patients and their families have entrusted us with their care."

When board-certified internists Dr. Moore and Dr. Spears opened their practice last year, both doctors shared an interest in women's health and a passion for preventive care. They set about creating a practice where patients would feel like proactive participants in their own health care.
"A lot of patients respond positively to our informality and willingness to work as a team to help keep them healthy, help them live well, and help them age well," said Dr. Spears.

During her internal medicine training at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Dr. Moore also researched melanoma and became a passionate advocate for the prevention of skin cancer. In her general practice, she routinely performs a variety of skin biopsies to catch cancer early when it is easiest to treat.

Dr. Spears went to a liberal arts college in Iowa and medical school in Nebraska before doing her residency at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center where she served as Chief Resident. A fitness enthusiast herself, Dr. Spears stresses the importance of diet and exercise, as well as regular health screenings, in preventive care.

Aspenwood Internal Medicine is part of the HealthONE network at the Rose Medical Center in Denver, CO. Both Dr. Moore and Dr. Spears are accepting new patients. For more information, please visit http://aspenwood.ehcmd.com/.
