Language Weaver’s statistical methodology is well suited to integrate with text analytics, extraction and categorization technologies due to its foundation in computational mathematics
Buffalo, NY; Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 25, 2007
Janya, Inc., a leading provider of information extraction and text analytics technologies, and Language Weaver, Inc., a leading software company developing enterprise software for the automated translation of human languages, today announced the companies have entered into a strategic marketing and technology partnership. The two companies will develop a joint solution that integrates Language Weaver’s automatic translation capabilities and Janya’s leading Semantex™ text analytics platform.
The solution will be offered by each company independently to aid their clients in extracting multilingual information and defining relationships among people, places and events drawn from unstructured and semi-structured text. The text may originate in any of the 16 foreign languages currently offered by Language Weaver, in addition to English, to give analysts timely access to multilingual information.
Demonstrations of the integrated solution will be presented by both companies at the Defense Intelligence Agency CIO-sponsored DoDIIS Worldwide Conference in Chicago. Exhibit dates are April 30 - May 2; Janya will exhibit in booth 116, while Language Weaver will be in booth 1202. DoDIIS has become the intelligence community's premier IT conference; it highlights cutting-edge capabilities and innovative solutions designed to support the changing needs of the warfighter and intelligence organizations.
Semantex gives users the ability to process a wide variety of unstructured and semi-structured data sources, including open source news, US Message Traffic Format (USMTF), Human Intelligence (HUMINT) content, web pages and email. It then generates a consolidated set of results that incorporates all the information collected into rich profiles, simplifying the analyst’s task of correlating large volumes of data. By identifying key entities, relationships and events, Semantex enables discovery of information that would be difficult to find by manual analysis.
“Semantex provides robust and scalable text analytics capabilities that have been proven in over a decade of government and commercial applications,” said Dr. Rohini K. Srihari, CEO of Janya. “The Janya-Language Weaver solution now enables the same capabilities to be offered across multiple languages.”
Language Weaver’s statistical machine translation software offers a significant departure from traditional rule-based machine translation by producing fluent, natural sounding translations. It learns automatically from existing translated documents to produce the highest probability translation output, and saves customers time and money by automating the process.
“Language Weaver’s statistical methodology is well suited to integrate with text analytics, extraction and categorization technologies due to its foundation in computational mathematics,” said Daniel Marcu, chief technology and operating officer of Language Weaver. “Our combined offering with Janya offers our clients more than translation by uncovering the underlying relationships in the text, no matter what the source language.”
