Plus, delivering the latest and best testing experience creates a good impression for the applicant, which supports the organization's need to present itself as an employer of choice. We feel that VSA+ offers strong benefits at every level, from day-to-day test administration all the way up to the strategic talent management concerns.
Montreal, Quebec (PRWEB) April 26, 2007
HR Alloy, a leading provider of assessment delivery services for talent management, has announced the release of Virtual Simulation Authoring Plus (VSA+™), an enhanced version of its simulation authoring tool. The new product gives users the ability to integrate voice and video content into realistic job simulations.
This enhancement builds on the current release of Virtual Simulation Authoring (VSA™), HR Alloy's unique system for creating and managing online virtual job simulations for use in talent management assessment, and development. Introduced in 2006 and based on six years of experience with virtual simulation tools, the first generation of VSA technology made it possible to build realistic job simulations with robust scoring capabilities. VSA+ highlights the company's focus on making adaptable assessment technology that can be easily customized - for HR professionals, for their organizational clients, and for the end user.
"We set the bar very high with our initial VSA offering," says Paul Blanchard, Founder and CTO. "The challenge has been to make it even better." The system already uses video-game techniques to render 3-D environments and character avatars, and employs sophisticated text-to-speech (TTS) software to deliver content in multiple languages. "Digital video technologies today are growing exponentially, expanding into new applications and new contexts. It became clear that supporting video on the VSA platform was the logical next step."
The result is a video-enabled version of the system, named VSA+. The new release makes it possible to incorporate custom video and audio content into the job simulations, providing additional authenticity. Video can come from any source, and make up some or all of each simulation, to meet customer needs and preferences.
The new offering gives HR Alloy's customers even greater flexibility to build their own unique, powerful assessment systems. "Our philosophy has always been to put the best possible tools in the hands of HR professionals, rather than simply sell them products. Our goal is to help them leverage their expertise and their own proprietary content to create a competitive advantage", explains Blanchard. "Ultimately, we hope they will create entirely new products and services. Adding video opens up an exciting new creative dimension."
Video content also supports a key goal of every assessment provider: effectiveness. "As our clients tell us, the more realistic and easy-to-use you can make any assessment the more comfortable the participant becomes, and then they're more likely to exhibit their natural behaviors," says Carl Benscoter, VP of business development. "Plus, delivering the latest and best testing experience creates a good impression for the applicant, which supports the organization's need to present itself as an employer of choice. We feel that VSA+ offers strong benefits at every level, from day-to-day test administration all the way up to the strategic talent management concerns."
