that using a blog to get good search engine rankings quickly really does work.
Blaine, WA (PRWEB) April 27, 2007
Internet marketing specialist Derek Gehl, CEO of The Internet Marketing Center (IMC), has released a case study that shows how one client used his blog to achieve a top ranking in Google -- in record time.
The revealing case study features Peter Cunningham, a member of IMC's Internet Entrepreneur Club forum, whose goal was to increase traffic to his website.
Gehl and his expert team members suggested several ways Cunningham could use his blog to drive more qualified traffic to his site:
- Make sure his blog was being "pinged"
- Submit his blog to blog directories
- Comment on other blogs in his niche market
- Give more specific category titles in his sidebar using keywords
- Include meta tags with his top keyword phrases in them
- Add keyword-rich < alt > tags with his images
- Create a keyword-rich blog description focusing on the main benefits of people reading the blog
Less than a week after acting on their advice, Cunningham achieved a first-page ranking in Google and Yahoo for all of the keyword phrases he'd been targeting with his blog. In some cases, he was in the #1 spot!
"It just goes to show," Gehl said, "that using a blog to get good search engine rankings quickly really does work."
