Web-based Educational Program on Psychiatric Issues in Disability Claims Commences on May 3, 2007

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) April 30, 2007 -- A web-based educational program on psychiatric issues in disability claims commences on May 3, 2007. This webinar series is entitled "Help-It's a Psych Claim!" and provided by Brigham and Associates, Inc., a national organization providing resources in the fields of impairment and disability evaluation. The target audience includes claims professionals, physicians, nurses, psychologists, and attorneys. It is designed to provide knowledge invaluable in your management of psychiatric issues. Psychological illness, personality disorders and behavioral issues often contribute to the most serious challenges encountered in disability management. The costs, both financial and human, are marked. The presenters of this series, Drs. Norma and Steve Leclair, are nationally recognized leaders in the mental health and disability fields with several years of practical experience - they are also highly effective trainers.

In this series common diagnoses, treatment protocols, duration of treatment, required components of psychological evaluation, impairment analysis and how to support work restoration and effective return to work strategies will be discussed. Session 1 on May 3 addresses "Major Depressive Disorders and Personality Disorders", Session 2 on May 17 is on "Anxiety Disorders Including Post Traumatic Stress Disorder", Session 3 on May 24 is entitled "Psychological Evaluation and Impairment" and the final session on June 7 addresses "How to Support Work Restoration and Effective Return to Work Strategies".

This is an internet-based training series. Internet-based training has many advantages for professionals since it is consistent with their needs as adult learners, can provide immediate access to needed resources, is less disruptive to schedules, and eliminates the challenges and costs involved with travel to traditional programs.
