LexVac features several offerings from Austin Air. Austin Air has published a brief article about its business practices on the LexVac website explaining that all of its products, down to filters and metal casings, are still made in the United States.

Austin Air is proud of its commitment to keeping operations in-country, and their industrial-sized products were even commissioned by the U.S. Army after the Sept. 11 attacks to reduce the massive air pollution that occurred in downtown Manhattan after the Trade Center fell. They also offer small products for home or office use.

The Healthmate air purifier sells for about $450 on the LexVac website. The Healthmate pulls air through four walls simultaneously, passing household air through a four-stage filter. Every 60 seconds, the Healthmate processes 250 cubic feet of air. The filter includes 15 pounds of Activated Carbon and over 60 square feet of medical-grade high-efficiency particulate air filter (or HEPA), making your air as pure as the air in a hospital must be.

Austin Air boasts that the Healthmate removes large particles such as dust motes, pet hair and even human hair from the air, along with pollen and mold spores, chemicals, gases and odors, down to even filtering germs and viruses. Users quoted on the website say their quality of life has changed dramatically since purchasing a Healthmate filter. J. Patterson of Nebraska says, "I sleep better and wake up rested without my usual stuffy nose. Now I have much more energy throughout the day."

If the Healthmate is a little too steep for your budget, but you still want the benefits of purified air, you could try the Healthmate Junior at $299.95. It processes 125 cubic feet of air every minute, which passes through 6.5 pounds of Activated Carbon and 30-square feet of medical grade HEPA. Like its big brother, the Healthmate Junior also removes large, medium and small particles from the air, including microbes and germs that cause illness. The Junior is ideal for bedrooms, beach houses, children's rooms and apartments.

For those with serious environmental issues inside their home or office, the Healthmate Plus might be the answer. At $549.99 it boasts a healthy price tag, but it also goes a long way toward really cleaning contaminated air. In addition to everything the Healthmate and Healthmate Junior air purifiers do, the Plus series adds Potassium Iodide to the standard 15 pounds of Activated Carbon. This addition focuses primarily on volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde, ammonia and other noxious cleaning products and toxic chemical fumes.
All of Austin Air's products have a 30-day money-back guarantee, a five-year parts-and-maintenance warranty and a five-year filter warranty. You are not expected to have to change the filter once for five years, the longest lifetime in the industry.

LexVac also offers a product from Thermax called The Breeze. It draws household air through water to remove cigarette smoke, offensive cooking smells, pet dander and other particles from the air in your home. They also offer a series of oils you can add to the filter so that it emits a pleasant fragrance as it filters your air. The Breeze sells for $49.95 and is ideal for small spaces such as bathrooms, offices and kitchens. If you're just looking for a more pleasant atmosphere in a small space, The Breeze could be right for you.
