(PRWEB) May 2, 2007 -- On-Mountain improvements continue at Heavenly Mountain Resort for the 2007-2008 Season. Vail Resorts, Inc. has dedicated $5 million towards resort improvements at Heavenly Ski Resort, next to 323 Residences, for the 2007-2008 season, bringing the total amount spent on improvements to over $45 million since Vail acquired Heavenly five years ago. The latest capital infusion will improve snow surfaces with high-tech snowmaking and grooming, enhance guest services with wi-fi access in select base lodges, expand ski and snowboard school programs and will also strengthen Heavenly's dedication to environmental stewardship. Heavenly has purchased five new Prinoth 350 groomers and one winch-cat, all of which have category 3 "green" low emission engines, as does Heavenly's fleet of South Lake Tahoe shuttle buses. Heavenly's state of the art snowmaking system, which services 70% of the mountain's runs, will also see improvements for the coming season.

Also new for 2007-2008, Heavenly's ski and ride school is further addressing guests' need for a safe and educational introduction to park riding with a new beginner Freeride area at the top of the Gondola. Coupled with Heavenly's existing park system, designed with progressively advancing techniques, the Beginner Freeride program will help set students up for jibbing success with hits and rails mere inches off the ground. Future improvements include renovation and expansion of the Stagecoach and Boulder Lodges on the Nevada side of Heavenly, which are the closest lifts to 323 Residences.
