Canadian CRO, Global IQ, Improves Site Assessment Process for EDC Study With VISTA

Global IQ, a Canadian-based clinical research organization, experienced improvements in its site assessment process after successfully implementing VISTA, a web-based investigative site assessment service, in their EDC study.

Media, PA (PRWEB) May 2, 2007 -- Scientific Software Tools, Inc. (SST), a leader in the area of technology-enabling software and services for clinical trials, and Global IQ, a Canadian-based clinical research organization, announced today that Global IQ has successfully utilized VISTA, a web-based investigative site technology assessment service, in an electronic data capture (EDC) clinical study.

Before any EDC clinical study begins, a site technical assessment needs to be performed to collect information about the computers at remote investigative sites. This ensures that the site infrastructure meets the hardware and software requirements of the study and is typically carried out manually through phone or paper surveys.

Site investigators and clinical support staff often face frustration when conducting these technology assessments as existing manual assessment processes tend to be labor-intensive, tedious and prone to inaccuracies.
Elise Furman, President of SST, explains: "Site investigators and clinical support staff often face frustration when conducting these technology assessments as existing manual assessment processes tend to be labor-intensive, tedious and prone to inaccuracies."

"VISTA is a web-based service that eliminates these problems by offering a fast and easy way for non-technical users in clinical research to perform the technical assessment, leading to significant cost and time savings. Within seconds to minutes, VISTA can quickly and accurately assess, capture, and report on the technology infrastructure of remote sites anywhere around the world. This is a service that is highly beneficial for pharmaceutical companies, CROs, and EDC providers."

According to Paul Braconnier, President and CEO of Global IQ: "VISTA made us realize how much information we can collect in future studies with little time and effort required."
