Arlington, TX (Vocus) May 1, 2007

For those who are looking for a new intellectual challenge this spring, why not take the Mensa Home Test? American Mensa, the high IQ society, announces its "Spring Doubleheader." During the month of May, home tests will be sold for $13. (Regular price is $18.) Return the completed home test before June 30, and receive a coupon worth $5 off the Mensa Admission Test. The coupon will be valid until August 31.

"The Mensa Home Test is a great way to get an idea about how you'd fare on the Mensa Admission Test," said Pam Donahoo, Executive Director of American Mensa. "Now that it's spring and people are looking for ways to get out, meet people and have fun with new friends, a membership to a social group like Mensa is that much more valuable. This promotion invites those who think they might qualify for membership to test at a reduced cost."

The Mensa Home Test is designed to give you an understanding of what to expect from American Mensa's supervised test. However, it is not mandatory for membership and is only available for those ages 14 and older. The Mensa Home Test will not qualify a person for Mensa membership. To learn more or order a Mensa Home Test, visit http://www.us.mensa.org/MHT.

To become a member of Mensa, you can either present evidence of prior testing (American Mensa accepts scores from over 200 standardized tests) or take a supervised test given by a Mensa Proctor. The Mensa Admission Test takes two hours to complete and includes two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning. If you score at or above the 98th percentile on either of the two tests, you'll qualify and be invited to join Mensa. Those 14 years and older may take the test. You may submit evidence of prior testing at any age.

American Mensa is an organization open to anyone who scores in the top two percent on an accepted, standardized intelligence test. The organization has more than 54,000 members in the United States and more than 100,000 members around the world. Members of Mensa attend local and national events, join special interest groups such as astronomy and philosophy, and help out in their communities through various projects. For more information about Mensa, or to apply for membership, visit http://www.us.mensa.org or call (800) 66-MENSA.
