St. Louis, MO (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- Elizabeth House goes national! Elizabeth House, a well-known European Boutique located in St. Louis, MO., is closing its retail location in St. Louis and is "expanding" in a non-tradtional manner. "I have over 3000 people, world-wide, who write me wishing they could visit my store. They can't come to me, so I am going to them," says Elizabeth Maxson, owner of the famed Elizabeth House.
"I am taking Elizabeth House on the road. I will do two or three nationally known antique shows a year around the country. I will recreate Elizabeth House in those venues and sell not only my signature items such as French olive oil soap, lavender soap, my private product line as well as my vintage finds and antiques," states Maxson.
Why the change in business? "Owning and running a store for over four and half years has been one of the biggest challenges of my life. I never dreamed that my little boutique would get so much exposure, " smiles Maxson.
Elizabeth House has been featured in over 30 magazines, many national, and Maxson has since become a regular contributor to the national shelter magazine, Romantic Homes magazine. Maxson explains, "In order for me to expand my private product line, my baby line and to keep up with the increasing demand for my custom design services, changing the way I handle my retail side of the business is just a must."
An accomplished writer and photographer, Maxson is working on a book which will feature her designs as well as inspirational business advice to new boutique owners. Maxson states that she plans to remain in St. Louis and will continue to have a presence in the Chicago home decor gallery, Vintage Pine, located in Lincoln Park.
"I am excited about this change. I am now able to sell world-wide, find time to write, and have more time to devote to my custom design projects. And of course, I will now have more time to travel and find those special one-of-a-kind finds that my customers have come to expect at Elizabeth House," says Maxson.
Maxson continues, "I am blessed to have so many devoted readers and customers. And I Iook forward to serving them with even more unique products and design ideas in the near future."
