The Linguist Begins Testing New 'LingQ' System

The Linguist Institute announces that is has begun testing its new LingQ language learning system with the existing members of TheLinguist.com. With LingQ they are aiming to make language learning more fun by harnessing the social nature of the internet.

West Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 3, 2007 -- The Linguist Institute Ltd. announced today that its members will begin using and testing the newest incarnation of its revolutionary language learning system. The new system, called LingQ, www.lingq.com, builds on the successful methodology and interactivity that is currently being used on The Linguist, www.thelinguist.com to learn English in over 25 countries.

While many of the components of the new system remain the same, additional community building features are planned to take advantage of the increasingly social nature of successful internet applications. In addition, LingQ (pronounced "link") will now offer other languages besides English including initially, French, Spanish, German, Russian and Italian. This will be followed shortly after by Japanese and Chinese.

"The potential of LingQ is enormous. What has been missing or limited in most self-directed learning systems in the past is the ability to include social interaction. With the potential interactions that will be built into LingQ, this is no longer an issue. In fact, we offer more ways to interact with more people than you get in a bricks and mortar language school," says Steve Kaufmann, Founder and CEO of The Linguist.

LingQ has been designed to link language learners to everything they need to achieve fluency in their target language. Whether it's authentic audio and text content, key vocabulary building tools, measurement or meaningful social interaction, LingQ enables the language learner to harness the wealth of resources available online including audiobooks, podcasts and more.

"The main reason why learners have been so successful in learning English with The Linguist is because the system enables them to enjoy learning," says Kaufmann. "A learner who is enjoying himself becomes a motivated learner and a motivated learner becomes a successful learner."

"Our ultimate goal is to create a world wide community of people helping each other to learn all languages, not just English," states Kaufmann. "A world wide community of linguists."

While currently in a testing phase, The Linguist Institute is planning on the full multi language launch of LingQ in the summer of 2007.
