Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) May 4, 2007 -- Vancouver's premier technology community website, Techvibes.com, has been acquired by Internet entrepreneurs Boris Wertz and Geoff Hampson. Their newly incorporated company Techvibes Media Inc. purchased the existing Techvibes.com website from myZone Media Inc. and plans are in place to expand the homegrown Internet property throughout North America.

Heading the re-launch of the Techvibes.com website will be newly appointed President, Robert Lewis. Lewis was most recently the Director of Marketing at Webnames.ca, Canada's largest domain name registrar. Prior to joining Webnames.ca, Lewis founded eBusiness Connection - a non-profit resource center and website focused on educating entrepreneurs about the benefits of integrating Internet technologies into their small businesses. Lewis' experience with Internet-based business models along with his business development experience and technology industry contacts will be invaluable during the evolution of the Techvibes.com website.

Over the next six months, Techvibes Media Inc. will focus on improving and updating the current Techvibes.com website to take advantage of its strong brand awareness across Canada. A complete overhaul of the website is planned for the fall of 2007 and will include the integration of technology product reviews, enhanced localization features, and user powered content.

Established in 2002, Techvibes.com quickly established itself as the leading online community for technology professionals in Vancouver and across Canada. Techvibes.com provides an easy-to-use platform for technology professionals to share ideas, generate sales leads, build stronger industry alliances, and recruit key employees. Popular website features include a technology company directory, discussion forums, industry articles and job listings. This unique mix of online content and functionality has helped grow the Techvibes.com community to 45,000 members over the past five years.

The new Techvibes Media Inc. was founded by local BC technology leaders Boris Wertz and Geoff Hampson. Dr. Boris Wertz is the Chief Operating Officer of AbeBooks.com, the world's largest marketplace for books. Wertz joined the company in 2002 after JustBooks, the German company he co-founded in 1999, was acquired by AbeBooks. Geoff Hampson is the former President and CEO of Internet infrastructure provider PEER 1. myZone Media Inc. will remain a minority shareholder in the new company.
