Berlin, NH (PRWEB) May 7, 2007
Katie Delahaye Paine, founder of KDPaine & Partners, LLC, in Durham, was named the NH SBA's "2007 Woman Business Owner of the Year." KDPaine & Partners, LLC, is a company focused on measuring the effectiveness of marketing programs. Paine was the first to publish a blog and newsletter for marketing and communications professionals dedicated entirely to measurement and accountability. She is a serial entrepreneur, selling her first company, The Delahaye Group, in 1999 and then founding KDPaine & Partners in 2002.
For the past 20 years, Paine has been providing marketers and communications professionals with tools, data and information to help them make better business decisions. She utilized SBA loans programs to assist with starting and growing The Delahaye Group. With the founding of KDPaine & Partners she was able to take her business acumen to another level, meeting the marketing and communications needs of many large companies, including Southwest Airlines. Her intent was to keep the company small, but it has been experiencing phenomenal growth, 51% in the past year.
This growth led to outsourcing, but instead of looking overseas, Paine carefully analyzed many factors and in the end decided to expand within New Hampshire, Berlin specifically. In doing so, she managed to decrease her overhead, support the people and economy of the North Country and stay true to her dedication to accuracy in analysis. The opening of a branch in Berlin was warmly welcomed by the North Country and Paine was able to hire very well qualified and talented employees.
Paine makes it a priority to reach out and give back to the community. She generously donates her time and utilizes her talents and resources to raise funds to find a cure for breast cancer. Being a survivor herself, she has a personal connection to this very worthy cause. She also enjoys teaching "Introduction to Business" classes at the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business.
A graduate of Connecticut College, Paine majored in history and Asian Studies. She received an Honorary Doctorate of Laws from New Hampshire College in 1996. She is a board member of NH Public Radio and the NH Political Library. Paine is a past recipient of an Athena award, and in 2006 she received NH Business Review's Excellence Award for Media and Marketing.
