SecureTRANSIT Adds Advance Passenger Information Processing for Cuba and CARICOM

Airline security firm SecureTRANSIT Inc. announced today that it now supports eleven additional countries for Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) data processing.

Halifax, Nova Scotia (PRWEB) May 5, 2007 -- Airline security firm SecureTRANSIT Inc. announced today that it now supports eleven additional countries for Advance Passenger Information System (APIS) data processing. APIScontrol is a web-based application that collects, validates, and submits Advance Passenger Information data for fourteen countries including United States, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, and the Caribbean Community (CARICOM). It complies with the set regulations for reporting airline passenger and crew information in United Nations Directories for Electronic Data Interchange for Administration, Commerce and Transport (UN/EDIFACT) format.

"We are one of the first vendors to provide APIS processing for both Cuba and the Caribbean Community. Our ability to adopt new countries quickly is a core strength which benefits our customers by removing the need for them to manage this complex and labor-intensive process. We plan to achieve complete coverage of all APIS countries by Q4 2007." says Jason Noftall, SecureTRANSIT's VP of Products.

The Caribbean Community will require regional and international aircraft and vessels to submit APIS data prior to arrival in and upon departure from any of the ten Member States forming the Single Domestic Space.

The Republic of Cuba requires that all flights with a destination to any airport in Cuba shall be delivered within 15 minutes after aircraft departure, comprising information on all passengers and crew members for that flight.

"The APIS market is developing just as we had expected. Forty-three countries either already have or are currently implementing their own versions of APIS data collection regulations. We are now positioned to offer world-class APIS processing to airlines of any size." said VP of Business Development Kenny Young.
