Italian Language Website Helps Reunite Family After Forty Years

A New York woman who hadn't seen her Italian family for forty years recently used the Italian language podcasts from www.LearnItalianPod.com to learn Italian in order to reunite with her family in Italy over Easter. She shares her story about the reunion, her learning experience, and more, as a case study showing that readers of all ages can learn Italian quickly and easily through LearnItalianPod website before a trip to Italy.

Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 7, 2007 -- Learning a new language can be a daunting task, but it doesn't have to be. New technologies, such as podcasting, offer new opportunities to learn foreign languages quickly and easily, and from the comfort of our homes, cars, and even iPods on the go. Recently, the Italian language podcasts, transcripts, vocabulary terms and more from her subscription to LearnItalianPod.com helped to reunite a Rhinebeck, NY woman, Cindy Mazzanti, with her family in Bologna, Italy over Easter after being separated from them for forty years.

The creators of Learn Italian Pod are no strangers to learning foreign languages. "As foreigners living in the United States, we experienced first hand the needs and challenges involved in learning a new language, and we had the tech knowledge to know what a better language training service should look like", states Max Braglia, CEO of LearnItalianPod. That experience was used to create an online Italian language learning center where users of all ages can benefit from the variety of language learning resources available through subscriptions, with a casual tone and learning environment to make users feel at home with the Italian language.

The last time Mazzanti had seen her family in Italy, she was sixteen years old, and had only learned enough of the Italian language to be able to get by. She was introduced to www.LearnItalianPod.com after her daughter came across the podcasts on iTunes. Mazzanti looked at the podcasts as an opportunity to easily develop the Italian language skills she would need to communicate with family members she hadn't seen since being a teenager; something that was important to her after the death of her father, an Italian native who left the country for the US as a teen to make his fortune. Because of her ability to now communicate with her family in their native tongue, Mazzanti was able to share everything from discussions of American politics to highly personal stories, such as when she evacuated both of her daughters from Hoboken, NJ after they had been in New York City during 9/11.

LearnItalianPod.com offers solutions for all aspects of learning the Italian language, with free weekly Italian podcast lessons, and a monthly subscription option that entitles users access to podcast transcripts, vocabulary lessons, interactive quizzes, and more, to aid in learning not only the spoken language, but the written language as well.

www.LearnItalianPod.com has received positive feedback not only from users sharing stories such as Mazzanti's, but also from the press, being called "useful" and "entertaining" by Business Week, with Jane magazine saying that the interaction between the two hosts was "cute" enough to stop users from feeling self-conscious while learning a new language.
