On Monday, May 7th, Brazilian-born J. Sisters will host a Mother's Day spa event at their West 57th Street salon to raise money for a new inpatient pediatric unit at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases. Mother's and daughters will indulge in manicures, pedicures, wax services, facials and other luxurious salon treatments to fund a good cause. All proceeds including tips will go directly to the non-profit hospital.

New York, NY (PRWEB) May 7, 2007 -- On Monday, May 7, 2007, the famous J. Sisters Salon will open its doors exclusively from 9:00 AM -- 5:30 PM for a special Mother's Day fundraising event to benefit NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases in building a new inpatient pediatric unit. Mothers, daughters and even sons will enjoy luxurious salon and spa treatments including manicures and pedicures, wax services, oxygen facial treatments, and more to support a good cause.

NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases (NYUHJD), a voluntary, not-for-profit, 190-bed hospital located at 17th Street and Second Avenue in the Gramercy Park area of Manhattan, has earned an international reputation for its world-class patient care, research and educational programs. The Hospital plans to build a new inpatient pediatric unit for the orthopedic care of children with devastating bone and joint diseases.

All of the rooms are intended to be visible from a state-of-the-art nursing station, with private areas for caregiver/family conferences, a family waiting area, as well as a special play area for the children. Additionally, space within the patient room is being designed to allow parents/family members to stay overnight and remain with their child without compromising space, which the staff needs to provide highly attentive care. The new unit will also enhance the NYUHJD residency program in pediatric orthopedic surgery and related research allowing the hospital to marry its academic endeavors with direct patient care.

All proceeds, including tips from this J. Sisters Event will go directly to NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases for their inpatient pediatric unit. Appointments are available from 9:00 AM until 5:30 PM. The J. Sisters Salon is located at 35 West 57th Street, New York, NY 10019. You can schedule an appointment by calling (212) 750-2485 or (212) 750-0170 or by visiting J. Sisters Salon.
