A bored dog can be a bad dog. Learn to do something with your herding dog that you will both enjoy. E-trainingfordogs.com brings the herding dog training knowledge and skills of professional trainers to you online through Webinars, a unique new way to train your own dog. College professor, Dr. Cheryl Asmus, has expanded the concept of online university and classes to the world of dogs to provide access to expert dog trainers and seminars for anyone, anywhere.

Today, many people have herding dogs such as Border Collies or Australian Shepherds due to their intelligence and beauty. Because these dogs have been bred to work, they must be kept active. The "work" these dogs were bred to do is herd. Many family pet herding dogs will actually "herd" family members or household pets, particularly children. They may also use nipping, a herding behavior to do this. The result is a problem dog. In other words, the very behaviors these dogs were bred to do can become a nuisance behavior in a household pet.

E-training for Dogs, Inc., has just released a new series of herding dog training classes taught by Kathy Kawalec of Dancing Hearts Holistic Training and Well-Being for Animals and People. Kathy has successfully competed in all venues of herding events including USBCHA, AKC, ASCA, and AHBA with her border collies for more than 10 years.

Not everyone lives in a place where knowledgeable herding trainers and access to stock are available. Through the internet, we have eliminated these barriers. Kathy's herding dog training courses are for all herding breed dogs (and their handlers) who are interested in learning and teaching their dogs herding skills, for fun, for competition or for farm chores. Students will learn and practice skills designed to shape their dog's natural herding abilities while they also learn how to read stock. They will also learn where to go to practice these skills with real stock. Kathy's methods focus on keeping the dog in a calm, focused, eager-to-learn state of mind - which helps the dog learn, and helps the handler to learn too. Students meet weekly online in a virtual classroom or through a recorded class. Kathy provides lesson plans with video demonstrations followed by homework and discussion. Learning to train and work with your own dog has never been so easy and so much fun.

The outlet of actually herding and performing the "work" these dogs were bred to do will allow the dog to focus its energy into something it was bred to do. The bond between the dog owner and dog will be strengthened and problem behaviors will be eliminated.
