AvFinity is an Austin, TX, mission-critical data communications network that provides lower cost data transmission alternatives for the aerospace industry.

The company can offer lower costs through its patent-pending software technology that operates primarily over secure broadband networks. This innovative technology utilizes ultra-secure, open-source communications transports as well as proprietary communications middleware such as IBM's Websphere MQ. The technology can facilitate movement of any form of data for aerospace companies.

Besides enjoying lower data transmission costs, AvFinity customers use the service with no additional investment in information technology (IT). AvFinity's patent-pending software technology operates via all communications protocols and provides interoperability with legacy and modern IT architectures. The AvFinity technology also provides data conversion between fax, telex, XML and Type B formats.

"AvFinity's network provides aerospace customers with the ability to send highly secure, mission-critical messages machine-to-machine without duplication or loss of message and with assured delivery," says Steve D. Perkins, AvFinity's chief technical officer. "We developed our patent-pending software technology to provide operational efficiency and cost-savings for the aerospace industry."

For APIS filings, AvFinity has a direct connection into U.S. Customs. Faxes and telexes are sent via AvFinity's network utilizing its alliance with EasyLink. In addition, AvFinity can send and receive terrestrial and cockpit-to-ground IATA Type B messages for customers via its account on the SITA network.

AvFinity also has received Federal Aviation Administration approval to connect into NADIN II for the filing of flight plans. This connection will be operational in the second quarter of 2007.
