Newsbureau.ca -- Canada's interactive media resource -- is an online community created to help businesses and journalists get their media relations work done faster and to a higher standard through personal connections and technology-ready tools.

Created by Immedia Management Inc, the service provides progressive companies with the ability to post news releases, invitations for journalists to review their products and services, expert profiles for interviews and more. Journalists are offered research tools allowing them to post requests for story assistance, respond to news releases online, and learn more about the people and companies seeking to reach them in just a few clicks.

"Newsbureau will offer tools that make it easier and more effective for companies to tell their stories and for journalists to get their jobs done," says Newsbureau.ca co-creator Heather Kirk. "The days of one-way, mass media communications are fading fast. Tomorrow's view is fast, efficient and personal media relations that delivers journalists the information and support they need to cover Canadian news and feature stories.

"We are talking about making it easier for journalists to access the people and information they need to get their jobs done. In that respect, a community of this kind seems an obvious choice for media relations."

Encouraged and inspired by the successful creation of the award-winning Media Kitty service, an international online community for more than 5,200 travel journalists and tourism marketing and PR professionals worldwide, co-founders Heather Kirk and Laura Serena are delighted to launch this Canadian media relations community concept and have assembled an outstanding team to help bring Newsbureau.ca to life.

The focus: quality content, easy-to-use tools and meaningful, personal communications. Working with input from a team of advisors -- including journalists and public relations professionals and business owners who embrace technology -- the dynamic community is now live in a beta or test phase.
