WBI Investments Cycling Team Powered by LIV Natural Begins Season with Victories

The WBI Investments Cycling Team powered by LIV Natural began its racing season with a bang this past weekend with back-to-back victories.

Little Silver, NJ (PRWEB) May 11, 2007 -- The WBI Investments Cycling Team powered by LIV Natural began its racing season with a bang this past weekend with back-to-back victories.

The team's success is a dream come true for team founder Matt Schreiber. Over two years ago now, the New Jersey native moved back home to the Jersey Shore after spending his college years in South Carolina. A serious bicycle racer, Matt was looking for other young riders to train and race with. Unfortunately, there was no young "developmental" team to be found in the area. "For guys who are in college or just graduated, there is really no place for them to land and continue their development as cyclists," Schreiber stated. He continued, "The sport of cycling is so expensive. These guys barely can afford to keep tires on their bike, let alone pay for race entry fees and travel expenses." To remedy the situation, Schreiber founded the WBI team in an effort to provide young riders inexpensive equipment, coaching, and entry fees. The team also hopes it can help young racers bridge the gap between the amateur ranks to the professional scene in the years to come.

The team looks to be on the right track. At Saturday's Turkey Hill Country Classic in Lancaster, PA, Jeff Schutt (WBI Investments-LIV Natural) sprinted past the competition to take the win. The team continued its' winning ways Sunday with a victory at the Tour of Colts Neck. With 4 miles left to race, teammates Justin Brown and Todd Dowling escaped in a 6 man breakaway. Behind them, the WBI-LIV team worked hard to preserve the break's 16 second gap. The tactics worked, allowing Todd to power his way to the win. Sunday's win was the team's second consecutive victory at the Tour of Colts Neck.

The team will be back in action May 27th at the Bound Brook Criterium in Bound Brook, NJ. For more information about the team and its sponsors, please visit www.wbiinvestments.org.
