Dunn-Dern's second children's book, "Dr. Duncan Dog on Duty," has just been published. Beautifully illustrated in full color by Andrea Yomtob (animator, "The Simpsons," :King of the Hill"), it features a family's therapy dog who visits sick children in the hospital every week, helping them get through their hospital stay. It has been acclaimed by Yolanda King, daughter of Dr. Martin Luther King and Coretta Scott King; Mary Hart, host of "Entertainment Tonight" and a board member of Childrens [sic] Hospital Los Angeles, where the author did her research with therapy dogs; and several doctors. The book will be presented at Book Expo America (BEA) in New York, June 1-3, at Visikid Books, booth #1341.

Dunn-Dern produces and hosts a children's show for ETV Ethiopian Television. A former staff writer for the HBO/Fox TV series "ROC," she also directed many large-scale children's theater productions in Los Angeles, and has been honored for her commitment to children's literacy and education.
