IMAX® 3D Announces It Will Construct 100-Ton Dinosaur Sand Sculpture Outside IMAX 3D Theatre
Broadway at the Beach, in Myrtle Beach, S.C. will be the site of an extraordinary sand sculpture; public invited to observe construction.

(PRWEB) May 16, 2007 -- IMAX 3D Theatre at Broadway at the Beach in Myrtle Beach, S.C. has announced that it has retained a team of world-class sand sculptors to craft a one-of-a-kind sand sculpture in honor of the Theatre's grand opening on May 22. The sculpture, which will be under construction on a lawn next to the IMAX 3D Theatre building, will depict a scene from Dinosaurs 3D: Giants Of Patagonia, one of the IMAX 3D films that will debut at the theater when it opens. The public is invited to come out and watch the sculptors work.
The IMAX 3D dino sculpture will be built by the award-winning, Florida-based professional sand sculpture company, "Team Sandtastic," headed by Mark Mason. Team Sandtastic is an internationally-known sand-sculpting crew that has built sand sculptures all over the world. In 2006, the team constructed the world's tallest sand castle in Myrtle Beach and, later, in Virginia Beach, Va. Dinosaurs 3D: Giants of Patagonia, narrated by Hollywood legend Donald Sutherland, is one of five films that will start showing at the new IMAX 3D Theatre on May 22. The other four IMAX 3D films will be:
Space Station 3D, the first-ever IMAX 3D space film, narrated by action-adventure star Tom Cruise;
Sharks 3D, a breathtaking new film experience presented by world-famous ocean explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau;
Deep Sea 3D, a look at sea life in the deepest depths of the ocean, narrated by award-winning actors Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet; and
Wild Safari 3D, the first-ever 3D wildlife film experience.

The IMAX 3D Theatre is located at Broadway at the Beach, a 350-acre entertainment complex located in the heart of Myrtle Beach.
