TheWineStandard.com has announced the launch of their unique, high end e-commerce site catering to wine enthusiasts. The site is a wine enthusiast's one-stop shop for wine accessories, as a buyer can find neat wine gifts such as a set of Riedel wine glasses to a Rabbit wine opener that will uncork a bottle of wine in 3 seconds flat. A shopper can basically find everything wine, except wine itself.

Currently TheWineStandard.com has over 200 different shopping items, but they hope to grow that number to well over 2,000 over the course of the next couple years. The site's current product line mainly consists of a diverse line of wine openers, wine glasses, and wine decanters from brands such as Riedel, Waterford, Screwpull, Metrokane, Bottega del Vino, Ravenscroft, and many more.

The website was launched on April 6, 2007, two months after they moved into their new office and warehouse space, where they handle everything from customer service calls and store many of the products available for purchase on the site.

TheWineStandard.com focuses on differentiating itself in two primary areas: product selection and customer service. The site only carries top of the line wine accessories and wine gifts from brand-name manufacturers that greatly enhance the wine drinking experience.

"You won't find any $4.99 wine openers on our site that work for 2 months then break. But you will find wine gifts like Rabbit and Screwpull wine openers, which are backed by our 10 year guarantee", says founder Tommy Leikas.

The sites other area of focus is on providing VIP customer service.

Leikas adds, "We want every customer to feel like they were the first customer we've ever had. That's why we answer our phones, and that's why we send a hand written note along with every order we ship... We're willing to go the extra mile to ensure our customers have an enjoyable shopping experience."

The company's main strategic advantage is to attract customers through search engine traffic. TheWineStandard.com drives in some traffic through pay-per click programs like Google Adwords, but hope to get a majority of their traffic from the natural search listings.
