Hands in Harmony presents the Summer Of Love 2007 Music Festival at the Sussex County Fairgrounds in Augusta, NJ on June 23rd as a 40th Anniversary tribute to the 1967 Summer Of Love. Performers include Leslie West and Mountain, Spencer Davis, Dr. Hook, Terry Sylvester formerly of The Hollies, Evolution: The Hard Rock Live Band, and The Classic Rock All-Stars featuring Mike Pinera formerly of Iron Butterfly and Blues Image, Jerry Corbetta formerly of Sugarloaf, Peter Revera formerly of Rare Earth and Dennis Noda formerly of Cannibal & The Headhunters. This event will celebrate the grooviness of the Original Summer Of Love, with great music, games, arts and crafts, food, drink and a spirit of togetherness.
Augusta, NJ (PRWEB) May 18, 2007 -- Hands In Harmony's Inaugural Summer Of Love Festival 2007 scheduled to take place on Saturday June 23rd from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. at the Sussex County Fairgrounds pays tribute to the 40th anniversary of the legendary Summer Of Love. The magical summer of 1967 was a special time when many young people gathered and celebrated the unique changes created by their generation. The dramatic changes in music, fashion and social awareness during that special summer remain iconic today.
The Summer Of Love 2007 Festival brings more to Sussex County than tie-dyed T-shirts and teenagers with flowers in their hair. Hands In Harmony has assembled a festival's worth of the era's top performers, many of which were headliners during the original Summer of Love! Performing live will be: Leslie West and Mountain, Spencer Davis, Dr. Hook and Terry Sylvester formerly of Brit group the Hollies, Evolution: The Hard Rock Live Band. Also appearing will be The Classic Rock All Stars whose members include Mike Pinera (formerly the lead singer of Iron Butterfly and Blues Image), Jerry Corbetta (lead singer of Sugarloaf), Peter Revera (leadsinger of Rare Earth) and Dennis Noda (formerly of Cannibal & The Headhunters) performing all their legendary groups' Greatest Hits. Also featured will be Yasgur's Farm, Woodstock Mary and many local bands and performers.
On June 23rd, the Sussex County Fairgrounds will be taken back to the grooviness of the Original Summer Of Love, with great music, games, arts and crafts, food, drink and a spirit of togetherness.
Hands in Harmony, the Festival's promoter and its team are organizing bands, licenses and sponsors for the event. The promoters intend to utilize the best in concert production for the musicians involved, from sound, to stage, to travel and lodging. It is anticipated that there will be extensive media coverage with live broadcast and streaming possibilities. In the spirit of the SUMMER OF LOVE a portion of the proceeds will go to various local charities, incl. Knights of Columbus, The Boy Scouts and Ginnie's House an organization helping children who are victims of abuse.
