New Guidebook Offers a Quick History Lesson on Cricket

Second-time author Miriam Rice-Walcott defines cricket in the simplest of terms in The Spectators Guide to Cricket.

Bridgetown, Barbados (PRWEB) May 20, 2007 -- Since writing her first guidebook on cricket, author Miriam Rice-Walcott has noticed a number of changes that have taken place in the game over the years. In her follow up book, The Spectators Guide to Cricket, Miriam Rice-Walcott reveals the exciting history of cricket including its rules and variations.

With an alphabetical glossary of cricketing vocabulary, The Spectators Guide to Cricket explains the basics of the game in such a way that even elementary school children could understand and learn. Also included in the book are photographs of the umpire signals, along with diagrams of the pitch and fielding positions.

With the ninth holding of the ICC Cricket World Cup in the West Indies, the author felt it was important to provide a reference for fans of the game as well as for those who don't know much about the sport. Whether one is a coach trying to help train players or a novice interested in learning the game, The Spectators Guide to Cricket is the perfect choice for discovering the ins and outs of cricket.
