Global Serv's SLACi to Augment SOX Compliance in Data Centers

SLACi, new software from Global Serv Inc., turns KVM Switches into Sarbanes-Oxley compliant switching devices. Managed KVM switching tracks user activity on both the switches and the servers expanding the role of audit logs to help companies meet their business, legal and auditory compliance requirements.

Menlo Park, CA (PRWEB) May 20, 2007 -- GlobalServ Inc. introduces SLACi, software that harnesses KVM Push™ and Desktop Switching technologies to track and log user activity in corporate data centers. Audit departments will now be able to use Global Serv's SLACi software that converts manual KVM switches (Keyboard, Video and Mouse) into Event Driven Automated Switching devices, to see who is managing what equipment; when events occur, no matter how complex the corporate infrastructure may be.

SLACi is designed to provide a "buffer zone" around each KVM user and connected server, by combining comprehensive access monitoring with event driven automated defenses. In responding to certain events, SLACi's automated switching bypasses traditional email messages, pager alerts or plain old phone calls, allowing administrators to immediately monitor affected equipment by pushing duplicate control to the appropriate on-call personnel. Network enforcement teams can seize or isolate the user and server equipment in real time while extended audit logs maintain a paper trail of user activity.

KVM Push technology reduces server downtime to close an expensive gap in business continuity management. SLACi immediately pushes server control to technicians upon system failure, empowering network and data center technicians to perform their jobs more effectively. And, push automation can be extended to match specific types of failures to the appropriate technician or can reroute control based on the time of day or availability of personnel.

"SLACi is the first tool to integrate compliance accountability and identity management with KVM switch hardware," said Mr. de Kerf CEO of Global Serv. "Managed KVM switching offers a vast improvement over today's basic manual retrieval switching methods. SLACi allows network administrators to increase security, improve auditing and customize who, when, where and how users get remote control."
