Charleston, SC (Vocus/PRWEB ) May 22, 2007 -- Blackbaud, Inc. "Community foundations that adopt an aggressive stance on the Web are the ones that will thrive in the future," Liz Marenakos, Blackbaud's director of CRM solutions said to the audience of foundation professionals. "Now is the time to think about how technology can help you differentiate your organization and take a leadership role in your community - the Web will be an important tool in helping you do that."

More than 60 organizations use Blackbaud's Community Foundation Solution. Among Blackbaud customers who participated in the event were Foundation For The Carolinas (FFTC), The Seattle Foundation, Maine Community Foundation, and Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT).

"Collaboration with Blackbaud and Fusion Labs has provided Communities Foundation of Texas with the right tools to be effective in connecting donors with the vital work of nonprofits," said Brent Christopher, CFT's president and chief executive officer. "Particularly through interactive Web-based solutions, the role of the Foundation will become increasingly more relevant to addressing the needs in our community. Blackbaud and Fusion Labs are leading the way."

Debra Watt, Foundation For The Carolinas' vice president of finance and operations, spoke about her experience with Blackbaud and Fusion Labs and the Foundation's project vision. FFTC is one of the top 30 community foundations in the United States. Managing assets of $650 million and more than 1660 charitable funds, the Foundation will use Blackbaud's Community Foundation Solution to support its complex financial management and future growth, and to build an interactive online community with its constituents.

"Our client focus requires us to have a robust CRM platform, and Blackbaud has been very responsive in assessing our issues and providing solutions. We are also excited to have the opportunity to provide our input for enhanced online tools at this event," said Watt. "I want to thank Blackbaud for their commitment to community foundations - it has truly been a collaborative effort."

Blackbaud's Community Foundation Solution, including fundraising and CRM; financial administration; Web site management; and business intelligence tools, will enable FFTC to increase efficiency, make better business decisions, and build stronger relationships with its supporters. The Foundation will also rely on Fusion Labs to provide an integrated grants management solution, GrantedGE.

"The opportunity to co-host this bi-annual event with Blackbaud and the valuable input from participants has provided us with great insight into designing and developing technology that will continue to support the specific needs of community foundations," said Mark Hall, Fusion Labs' chief business officer. "Our endeavors to maximize the benefits of portal technology for the foundation space and to deploy solutions that automate the grant making process online were well-received by the attendees."
