Gibraltar (PRWEB) May 23, 2007 -- On Thursday May 24, 2007 sparks will be sure to fly when two of the biggest names in the world of backgammon go head-to-head in a one-off exclusive bout at www.PartyGammon.com.
As Sander Lylloff takes on Peter Jes Thomsen, the tale of the tape between these two backgammon heavyweights could not be any more different.
24 year-old Dane Lylloff is perhaps the best young backgammon player around at the moment. His exciting style of play is a breath of fresh air and after recently winning the Paris Masters, Lylloff is already ranked amongst the best players in the world. He was the bookmakers' favorite to win the PartyGammon.com Million in the Bahamas back in January before going out in the quarter-finals.
Fellow Dane Peter Jes Thomsen is 10 years Lylloff's senior and has seen and done it all in the world of backgammon. The highlight of a glittering career was winning the Backgammon World Championships at just 20 years-old, in 1993. Other accolades include taking the title of Nordic Champion in 2000. Jes Thomsen is currently ranked number twelve in the world.
PartyGammon users have the exclusive opportunity to watch this main event only at www.PartyGammon.com. There is also betting on this match-up on www.PartyBets.com with Lylloff favorite at 1.83 and Jes Thomsen at 2.10.
The match will be a 15-point master class, with the first dice rolling at 14:00ET (20:00 CET). To watch the game, simply log onto the PartyGammon.com platform and then select the match tab from within the lobby. From there you need to select the game between 'Da Pruy' (Lylloff) and 'Smoothie117' (Thomsen) to be taken directly to the action.
Once the final knockout blow has been landed in the battle of the 'Great Danes,' it will then be the turn of PartyGammon users to put any tips they have just learned to the test, as they are given the opportunity to take their seat at the board and challenge both Lylloff and Thomsen. Both players will create separate match tables, where challengers can take part in a $100 USD three-point game against them.
