Quantum U Helping Students Prepare for College With Learning and Life Skills

Quantum U's 8-day summer program at Colorado College helps incoming college freshman make the transition from high school to college by teaching them key learning and life skills that prepare them to compete and succeed with less stress. It helps current college students prepare for their post-college life with skills aimed at taking charge of their lives, setting goals and entering a career.

Oceanside, CA (PRWEB) May 29, 2007 -- Joe Chapon, Vice President of Quantum Learning Network, today announced that the company's Quantum U learning and life skills program for graduating high school seniors, junior college students, and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors will be held from July 17 to July 24 at Colorado College in Colorado Springs.

Quantum U is an intensive residential summer program that uses Quantum Learning accelerated learning methods to prepare students for college success and future careers. According to Kevin Davis, a Quantum U facilitator, the program is unique because, "Quantum U helps students transition from the attitude and skills of a youth to the attitude and skills of an adult. They learn to go from the mindset of 'things happen to me' to 'I make things happen for me'."

Quantum U teaches students how to learn, something they aren't taught in school. At Quantum U, they learn practical skills for college and life including how to read faster, comprehend more, improve their memory, communicate better, study more effectively, make sound decisions, write with impact, manage their energy, take responsibility for personal finances, and take ownership of every choice and action.

In making his announcement, Mr. Chapon indicated that this program is limited to only 80 students. "Students come from across the U.S. and abroad to attend Quantum U," said Chapon. "Our graduates tell us that Quantum U gives them the time and space away from school to focus on the future, commit to a major, and learn skills for life after college."

Quantum U is an outgrowth of SuperCamp, which launched in 1982 to help middle school and high school students develop learning and life skills. Since then, SuperCamp has become a worldwide program, graduating over 45,000 students in 25 years. In a research study of over 6,000 SuperCamp participants, 73 percent of graduates showed an increase in grades, 84 percent reported an increase in self-esteem, and 98 percent indicated they continued to use the skills taught at camp.
