Former Starbucks Executive and Julep Founder Jane Park Sets Out to Create a "Third Place for Women" by Combining All-Natural Salon with Group Accommodations

Julep Nail Parlor today announced the opening of its first salon in Seattle's University District. Founded by Seattle businesswoman Jane Park, a former Starbucks executive, Julep Nail Parlor is a new salon concept designed to provide women with a rejuvenating experience in a unique social setting.

Julep's careful site planning, equipment selection and environmentally friendly interior choices have resulted in a relaxing environment where friends can gather and celebrate. Manicure and pedicure chairs have been custom-built for comfort and flexibility to enable Julep to create both intimate settings and group events. Julep's all-natural product selection and state-of-the-art equipment cleaning process also offers a toxin-free, ultra-hygienic environment for clients and staff.

"While many women turn to salons and spas for group bonding efforts, most places aren't set up to accommodate them," said Jane Park, CEO of Julep. "We designed our entire salon to make it easy for friends to gather, from convenient online booking to our innovative layout. We envision Julep becoming a 'third place for women' - beyond the workplace or home - and providing the same kind of bonding and socializing opportunity for women that golf has traditionally offered to men."

The distinctive, all-natural Julep experience also includes a wide range of treatment options. Each manicure and pedicure is carefully designed to satisfy individual preferences, and clients have the ability to mix and match treatments. From the "Express 15 Minute", to the Signature "Red-Carpet Ready" pedicure, and the "Hand-cial" (a facial for your hands), each Julep treatment is unique.

Park's commitment to a health-conscious company extends beyond the French tip. From the beginning, Julep will participate in the Puget Sound Energy's Green Power program to support clean, renewable electric power.

"It was important to me both as a consumer and a businessperson, to develop Julep with a mind to the environment and our community. Julep exists to foster community, and that requires accountability to each other," added Park.

Julep is a place to celebrate special occasions and everyday triumphs. Bridal showers, birthday parties, corporate confabs and group gatherings are welcome at Julep. Innovative weekly events such as Mommy Mondays beginning June 4th and a monthly seminar series presenting lectures on topics such as wedding planning, personal finance, entrepreneurship and the arts, offer a new framework for women looking to engage with each other.

Park has also launched http://www.MyJulep.com where new guests and loyal clients can choose and schedule treatments at the University Village-area salon or purchase selections from Julep's product line of ultra-hydrating lotions, bright polishes, and more.

Location: 5001 25th Avenue NE, Seattle WA 98105 - west of University Village
